the intake and utec won't be a problem, but you'll need to put something with cats on to pass the emissions portion of the test.

You probally wont have a problem passing inspection...I got one the other day they didnt even remove my wheels or put it on a lift...But you will not pass emissions without a cat unless there is some way to fool the odb2 scanner

If you are not throwing any codes you will be fine. As long as you have a CEL fix do not worry.

Let me point you in the RIGHT direction

You should read the Unabombers welcome thread...but here you go.

Art Walker in Va Beach. There is no emissions testing down here, and they just check the basics. They don't take apointments, I think the last INSPECTION is at four (dont get there at 330 because you wont get in). I know you live on the other side of the water, but that is the place I reccomend.

15 bucks is cost of a state inspection...try these terms in the SEARCH FEATURE:

art walker, inspection, hampton roads

vary it up a bit and you will find something.

good luck!

Art Walker is out of the way, but it's the only documented spot for us Subaru owners that we know of to recommend that doesn't give a crap. You might find some place local that is "cool" as well, but I've used Art Walker like 4 times now as have many other catless people. If you get hit at another place though, I don't now what would happen especially if it's for your being catless. I supposed you'd have to make up a story and return for reinspection with the OEM exhaust. Worst case....lots and lots of high dollar EPA/state of VA fines.

Might also try searching DragVA. Not my favorite past-time but with some patience I found a few places that might work. (Don't remember what they were but they are there)
In the end I just went to Art Walker since I live on this side.

The only reason I am dreading my inspection day is because the inspection stations are manned by idiots and I am very protective of my car. Last time I went I was in my old 90 mercury cougar POS and the guy opened the door right into a table. Left a big dent which I reported but nothing ever came of it.

they have to drive it into the bay and then they walk around the car and then you drive it out. they aren't hot doggin it the 15 feet they take it and there is really nothing around the bay for them to bump into.

i watched them there and he told me my license plate lights were out. he went and got new ones and while i was putting them in he wrote up the paper work.

but yeah they are careful and you can watch them.
