My HGs on my 98 Legacy GT are going and I figure I might as well do a swap instead on changing the gaskets.
Im debating whether to do the ez30. I have read the anders8 and phatsuby threads but im still left lacking some info. Does anyone have any other threads that would be helpful?(I did try to search) Can anyone give me a general overview of what I would need to complete the swap? Approx cost? From what I understand, the motor will bolt right up to chassis and tranny. Issues would be wiring and any problems with the auto tranny ecu in a manual. Do you have to contact gruppe-s for motors? cause they dont have them listed on their website. Thanks for any help -Ben

so when you say EZ30 do you mean EZ30 or EZ30R? Because anders has an EZ30 and I have a R. Gruppe-s only has the R's that I have seen. If you are doing the regular 30 use the stock ecu, it wont be a problem however you may have to get a little creative with your starter, or at least cruise control because you wont have a neutral switch input on the ecu. Other than that you will pretty much be fine. If you are planning on the R then stand alone is the only way to go which the Hydra is the only solution.
hope that helps some, if you need more specifics let me know and I can try to help. Ben |
