The V6 units for city patrol makes sense what with possibly better gas mileage. Don't the V8's have displacement-on-demand, though?

The V-8s will take the place that the Z-28s used to occupy. The V-6 is equal to the task of the Crown Vic, so that makes sense to. Hey, at least someone is looking out for the taxpayer.

In a recent analysis by Michigan State Police, Chargers equipped with a V-8 engine had the quickest acceleration (6.52 seconds to 60 mph) and fastest lap time (150 mph) of any police vehicle tested.
Guess they didn't test all possible options...
