Angry PO at self

I'm embarrassed to say that the other week while backing out of the garage, I managed to catch the drivers side exterior mirror just right on the side of the doorway. Instead of it flipping out of the way it was compressed into the car (then flipped back) and put two small cracks on the mirror and taught the kids some new words. They are barely noticeable in the daylight but they bug the heck out of me. Plus when I see them I feel pretty stupid . Can't say I've done that ever before. Anyway, I did some checking and I've ordered the parts to repair it. It seems unlike most side view mirrors the B9's has 4 parts to it. I only need 2 of them, the expensive ones of course. The mirror can be popped off along with the painted front part. Those I will re-use. The LED blinker part and housing will be replaced. This will also involve removing the inner door panel to enable me to unplug the harness to the mirror. Here are a few pics of the damage. The flash makes the cracks more visible than in real life. The one on the housing is strange because it's only on the inside part of the housing and not the outside. I'm glad though because you can't see it from the side then. I'm just glad it wasn't bad enough to make it so it was hanging off by the wires. I'll be doing a how to page this weekend. I hope no one will need it though.

My wife didn't really say anything much other than bummer. I think she's just glad it was me instead of her. She hates to drive my car because she knows how anal I am about it. I really felt bad though, the good thing is it's fixable and you won't be able to tell it was damaged.

Wow, that sucks. I backed into a tree with my first car once and am still mad at myself for not looking a little harder at what was behind me.

Damage really doesn't look all that bad though.

Well I worked on it tonight and repalced the broken parts, it was not all that bad. I'll do a page eventually. Good as new now

Bummer!

My daughter lost a battle with a Honda Pilot this week. I guess somebody will be needing that page when the weather gets warmer.

I have all the pics edited I just need the time to do the write up, I'll get to it soon though. It's not very hard to do though.
