nothing like a lens that costs as much as a car or whatever.

I totally picked the wrong time to get into photography, I really didn't need another expensive hobby!!

Oh well, c'est la vie, the wife and I will do our best to continue to grow using the kit lens until we come upon must buys at inexpensive prices.

Amy just got me the 24MM f/1.4L and 200MM f/2.8L (I'm a prime guy), and that's plenty for the stuff I need it for. Worse case, I'll get the 1.4x tele extender, but I can't begin to fathom the need for that lens, heh.

Nirmit: I just got back from a tuning day (spent an hour on the runway of BWI de-icing the plane), and I'm beat, but I'll dig through some of the recent pics and post some up. I need to get some seat time with the 200MM f/2.8L and do a review like I did on the 24MM f/1.4L (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ighlight=24mm). But it's nice to see a thread like this for the locals.

I'm really looking forward to doing some IR work with that 24MM f/1.4L this spring/summer.

That, and I picked up a basic monolight setup for the house (softbox and two slave flashes with white/silver umbrella combos for fill/hair/main use. It'll be nice to get into some artistic portrait photography this summer.

yeah, the 2nd picture was just an experiment i did a while ago with some photoshop macros I downloaded. Was combination of "gothic glow" and "midnight sepia". Kind of interesting.
