Nuts!
I was really worried that the commission was destined to dilute the sport, but it looks there IS hope!

Ron Dennis is still going to be giving team orders. Montoya just needs to find a new team that would value his talent. Under Dennis, Montoya will never be the number one seat.

The red parts on the wings are reserved for Vodaphone who are on board for 2007.

Is it just me or are the F1 front wings just get more ridiculously complicated every year. BTW, is there regulation for paint jobs? I mean blinding your opponents with shiny paint job can't be legal...

Sorry to be disrespectful, but it's always been disrespectful to me

Yeah it's supposed to be chrome, the pics aren't so good methinks. I too was wondering about them blinding other cars. F1 turned down their first color choice: Invisible.

I think it just shows how far aerodynamics have come since a while back. The front wing actually hasn't changed much since last year. But the aero on those cars are amazing. I think the only paint regulation is no paint on the camera mounted on the top.

oh god that is so gorgeous

I live in downtown long beach and they have already setup parts of the grand prix track... it sort of gives me chills to drive down there with the spectator stands and barriers and fences on teh side of the road. its all open to traffic too. eh i guess i should post a photo or something.

That looks sort of metallic silver to me - like some of the recent "black chrome" shades available for street rims. Nice regardless.

Now this is a chrome car (although it's just highly polished aluminum):

I wish F1 would ditch Indianapolis already and return to Long Beach like back in the days.

F1 needs a venue in the midwest, that is where the most interest is per capita. Indy is just the easiest because infrastructure is already there.

Has Speed channel listed their coverage yet?

Peace,

Greg

I disagree.

Long Beach is a horrible venue. I went to that race 5 years in row and I am continually disappointed by the coverage. You get to see the cars for 4-5 seconds tops and then you wait for them to come around again. With the exception of Monaco, I think all Street races should just be canceled. Dedicated circuits are where open wheel cars shine. Indy is a fantastic venue as I have been to that race twice. You can see the cars through almost half the lap, and follow a battle. The infield is well laid out and its a good compromise of downforce and speed.

City courses are notorious for being car killers and its not much of a show for the fans.
This is of course my opinion... so take it with a shred of tire.

If Montoya showed the kind of pace the Kimi has, he might have a shot at the 1 seat.
