Default MBC. how safe?

So yesturday i found out im only running .7 bar of boost, droping off to .5 . so im thinking of throwing on a MBC and setting it at 14psi. how safe would that be? i know that the MAP sensor will pick up on the higher boost, but how will the ECU react?

this is also on a EJ20G w/ a tdo4 (out of a wagon)

thanks
kirill

that might not be that far off factory boost levels ..

iirc this engine is only rated at 220ps

do you have an egt gage
a mbc w/o a egt gage is just asking for failure

no, i dont have one.
but thats a good idea on the EGT guage, never thought of that.
And i know for a fact that the boost levels im running are factory, becoue if it was anything lower it would be spring pressure. and sense the engine is only rated at 220, .7bar of boost seems like a good boost level to make those numbers.

thanks
