I have a friend who converted an S13 240SX to AWD along with his Skyline engine swap. He set the car up so it was convertible from RWD to AWD on the fly, through engaging a hydraulic pump. Is anything similarly possibly for an AWD to RWD conversion on a GC8?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the way subaru trans are made its based off a FWD, so it can be FWD on the fly. You can make a RWD trans, but then it loses AWD. Like anything with the money and time anything can be done.

I think what Wicked was trying to say was that the general design of the transmission is a FWD transmission, which it is.
An on the fly setup would be fairly complicated considering the design of the center diff. |

You don't need to do anything to the front axles if you just remove the splines that transfer power to the front.

there is a center Diff in japan that you can buy for $400 and it will make it 100% RWD. I have impreza magazines that shows it.
