Question Mud flaps/splash guards on a MY00 GT wagon?

Has anyone put mud flaps/splash guards on your MY00 GT wagon? Subaru offers them on the Brighton and L but not GT because they don't fit the GT's "aerodynamic body-color ground effects" (snicker). (ok, they look fine -- I just mock the choice of marketspeak)

I've got the black Subaru OE flaps on my MY91 Legacy L wagon and they work well (or at least well enough to want them on the new ride) and look nice. Sometimes they collect slush in the wheel wells, but snow in DC is paltry and infrequent so it's not a problem.

Experiences/opinions?

Cool

I think the ones Challanger Deep sells will fit the MY00 Legacy. Could be wrong though.

Have a Nice Day?

I hate to say this, but I haven't mounted the Vacanza flaps on a 2000 Legacy. They fit fantastic on the 99 and older models. I'm thinking our Canada and folks that live in the mountains love them right about this time. Everyone that has the Vacanza's really likes them. No extra drilling, doesn't catch snow, and they bolt in, and offer awsome protection. I know what you mean about the snow build up in the stock flap region. Those things really catch snow!
The Vacanza's disapate it real nice. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, Shawn. I don't think I'd like the look of red Vacanza's on a Timberline Green Pearl wagon. I looked on http://www.challengerdeep.com/ and didn't see mention of other colors, so I assume Vacanza's are available in red only. True?

Actually, the picture on the boxes they come in are the red mounted on a green Legacy. It doesn't look bad at all. My biggest concern is if they would fit your car, being a 2000 model. Not having much access to Subaru's now living in Texas "I see one a week", I don't have much of a chance to test parts on cars. These flaps offer very good protection, and what I like is that they don't let the snow build up. I'm personally waiting for my wife to give me the go ahead, and let me snag a set of black STi's for my Sport, but she makes me sell everything! I hate the stock flaps. They catch all the snow, and make the most annoying sounds. On top of that, they keep the tread filled with snow by letting the packed snow sit against the tire, so you get less traction. The Vacanzas are well made. I don't know if anyone on this site has them on there Legacy, but I would bet if you posted a message on the main RS site, you would find quite a few people that have bought them from us, and are real happy.
I have parts catalogues coming for the 2000 Japanese spec Legacy next week, and we will see what we can get for you. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

Best Wishes,
