Need Front Axle help Tranny swap.

I posted in the tranny forum no response. I have an LGT MY05 tranny in my impreza L The new tranny requires male axles that insert into the female tranny. All subarus that I have seen are male trannies with female axles. Does anyone know if the MY05 or MY06 impreza trannies have gone this route?
The LGT axles are to long and they don't fit in the hub properly. I tried dissassebling the cv joint and switching ends but the spline count is differant. Help me please!

i believe that 04+trannys have the male axels so your looking for a 04+? wagon? axel
i know that the newer 6 speeds have the male axels too
dam this project is alot of work

Yeah your telling me. Do you have anyway of confirming that the MY04 + axles are males? Yeah I would think I would need wagon WRX axles.

Could you not just insert the axle stubs from the older style transmission into the newer 05 transmission?

I don't see how. It would mean cracking the case, and then who knows what I might get myself into. Seeing that they made this change I don't know what else is compatable inside.

What are you going to do for a speed sensor input? The 05 and newer legacy's use the ABS sensors for Vehicle speed instead of having a speed sensor in the transmission like they used to have.
