depends on how ragged your tune is. . .if you really want to make sure get the free logging SW and keep an eye on your IAM and KC values. . .

94 is also starting to disappear from PA. . .everywhere outside of state college only sells the 93 now. The two sunocos in state college still sell the 94. Strange. I wonder if this is a move by Sunoco or some state BS reg.

Get a retune... yes you'll probably knock on 93 now.

i wouldn't necessarily jump to that conclusion. Like i said, IMO it will depend on how much safety was built into the map to begin with. . .

Every sunoco station around here has 94. I guess it helps to have a sunoco refinery less than 40 miles away...

At least I'm not alone here. I noticed about 6 months ago, all the sunoco's were closing. I have one local one left (about 15 mins away)

Yea I know it depends on how aggressive the tune is but would you risk it? I wouldn't. Hell I wouldn't have gotten tuned on an octane that's only available from ONE gas station across america.

well, if there is no knock, there IS no risk, that's my point. I instructed the OP to get some logs and monitor his engines vitals.

I myself got tuned on sunoco 94 also. although sunoco is the only gas station, there were two in my town alone, and just about every other exit on the highway i normally travel there is sunoco (route 80).

I have run 93 in my car PLENTY of times, with no knock. if i had to go back to 93, i would not just pay for a retune, i would make sure the car actually NEEDED a retune. My map is fairly conservative (created by Jorge), so at this point my car wouldn't need a retune.

Now, if the OP does not want to get logs and monitor knock activity, then i would recommend paying for a retune to dial back the tune somewhat.
