Default problems with 04' sti into an 01' RS help!

ok im puting in an 04' USDM sti into an 01' RS everything is in but a few problems are.....

1. the new throttle body is electronic right? because the old one has the cables and the new one does not. am i missing something?

2. i bought a cobb tuning down pipe because i did not have the stock pipe. it does not quite fit, it not fitting right around the engine mount, are the 04' and 01' mounts that much different? we used the 04' mounts, could we use the 01' and it will fit better?

3. the power steering resevoir gets in the way of the intake, if i bought an after market intake would that help? or is there some modification i need to do?

1) you need the gas pedal assembly from the STi, and the dash wiring harness and the gauge cluster if you intend to use the transmission.

2)what do you mean it doesn't fit around the engine mount? there's no engine mount in the way of the downpipe unless you are talking about the up-pipe not clearing the cross member which in that case you are using the wrong cross member.

3)you need to post pictures, if you are using the power steering pump off the STi there is no reason it should interfere with anything.

what the guru said on top!!

what do you mean.. by 04 sti on 01 rs?? (did you get the full drivetrain?)
(engine, tranny, wiring, all accessories, etc)

1) you have to take out the cable type gas pedal and instal DBY Gas pedal,

2) if you got the 04 sti tranny, you have to check the fitment of the downpipe, (if you notice sti dp & wrx dp is different) mounting point is different..but you could make it fit..otherwise it should fit right in

3) won't be able to tell show some pics~!

i got the full harness, complete engine, tranny, rear axels, drive shaft, and rear diff, and both tranny and engine mounts for the 04' STI. i have an 01' RS as far as i understand the down pipe when its hooked up to the exaust it comes short to the turbo about an inch or less, im sure they can modify but im was just wondering if we might have been missing something or done somthing wrong!

alright i now know that i need the gas pedal assy? and the 04' gauge cluster?

i am gonna take some pics tomarrow so i will post some then

thanks

chris

you shouldn't have to modify the exhast at ALL the STi exhaust will fit prefectly on any Impreza chassis except for one hanger on the muffler section.
