Default What service manual is THE service manual

Coming from an '01 1.8T Jetta to the WRX I would like to know what is THE manual to get for the WRX. For the Jetta is the manual from "Bentley Publishing". I'm abou tto purchase my WRX and wanted to purchase the manual at the same time. TIA

Subaru has one on its site, you pay for access to it and can download all you want in IIRC 72 hours. I believe it would be easier to go to eBay and find the CD.

Subaru's STIS (Subaru Technical Information System) has the only authoritative technical documentation (see techinfo.subaru.com).

BTW, I've decided to develop a script which automates the download of any model's service manual and related documents from STIS which is aware of STIS's illegal 20-file-per-hour restriction. Stay tuned.

Didn't someone already make that script though? I know I saw it about a year ago. No sense in reinventing the wheel.

I think the previous script was developed before STIS introduced the 20-file-per-hour restriction.

Nope... Someone had modified it to handle that. I was thinking of downloading the script and paying STIS for a membership, but then I found the service manual posted on some german website for a few days.
