Default In case any of the local texas autocrosses might be interested in a stupid fast car:

1994 BMW 325/328i autocross, trackday, race car for sale

NOW ON EBAY:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4615038255

I am putting up my 1994 325/328i for sale. It is currently prepared for the FP solo2 autocross class. The car is a blast to drive and has had many FTD (fast time of the day) finishes in autocross events across Texas and had a strong showing at Nationals as a DSP car. In its current state the car is usually faster on an autocross course than a race tire equipped z06 Corvette with similar driver talent.

With its light weight and upgraded cooling system this car would make a great track day car. You can drive it to the track with your tools and race tires inside and go seriously fast then drive it home. It can also contend for fast time of the day at every autocross you go to. The car is not pretty but the important parts have been taken care of and it performs amazingly.

Car Summary:
Engine - 1998 328i engine at 250 horsepower, 55,000 miles

Get a personal loan, its quite easy and interest rates are usually quite reasonable.

Its just an option package.
For $1600 extra you get:

better tires
better transmission ratios
stiffer springs/shocks/swaybars
bigger brake rotors
better brake pads
engine oil cooler
power steering cooler
transmission cooler

is this based off of a Z06, or standard C6 vette?

Its not really based off anything. Its stiffer than base, but not the same as the new z06 suspension. You can bolt on the entire z06 suspension to any c6. I think the front spring is the same on z51 and z06.

The overall package is a hair slower than the old c5 z06, probably due to the smaller, heavier, runflat tires the c6 z51 uses. But with the coolers it has, and better brake calipers and bigger rotors, it should be much more durable on a big track.

You can get a c6 z51 for under MSRP, approximately 42k

The new z06 is 65k MSRP, and is hard to get for that much.

is production that low on the Z06, or are they still that "must have" that they are artificially inflated?

Its just that good.

Z06 differences:
Race durable, 505hp motor (vs 400 on the others) and its probably underrated
Dry sump oiling system ( can handle high g forces)
335mm tires
aluminum chassis, making it lighter than the regular c6 cars
monoblock brake calipers
stiffer srpings/shocks/swaybars
aerodynamic improvements with a front splitter and rear diffuser
wider fenders, hood scoop
