Can't I run AVCS with the stock WRX ecu and get a Protune?
Also, would you need the stock motor for trade?

Might be possible with a Protun, but I don't know. I have never looked into it. Your best bet would be to ask a Protune tuner. No motor for trade. I've already got something else going in.

I figured that would be the case, but I was not 100% sure. What you will need is an AVCS wiring kit from IAperformance (~$180), JDM ecu ($200-$400), and some way to tune it (Utec, ecutek flash, etc).

Wow, that's a pretty reasonable price for the 6 speed.

Thanks, and that includes the Exedy twin plate clutch not a stock STI one. It can withstand just about everything you want to throw at it. Pedal feel is slightly harder than stock. After 1 week of driving you won't even notice.

Everything still here. Lots of people interested, but none with money. Still first come first serve.
