AFAIK, all Legacy/Impreza/Forrester wheels are bolt compatible and use similar offsets. It's the tires and suspension height that makes the biggest difference.

So, Yes.

Benjamin, I've been asking about the auxiliary lamps as pictured on this board since I got some HyperRevs to drool over a week or so ago. I just dropped an E-mail to Japanparts.com to see about availability. They have a number of JapanSpec parts on site for Legacy, but, alas, not the combo-lamps pictured, nor the projectors you are inquiring about. You might try them. I think Crazy Ken did an HID conversion, but I assume that was with an aftermarket kit. They do look AweSome!!

I have the JDM spec Projectors w/ HID conversion on my '99 GT, and I have the HID conversion for my '98 L. Personally, if I had the $ I'd go with the JDM spec lights for my '98L too

GTBGUY, Cool! And is there anything else you would be willing to share? Like where did you get them? Shortcomings? Any other advantages?(besides looking hella-cool!) Costs? Other parts available from the supplier?(like combo lights mentioned on previous posts)Anything I haven't thought of that you consider worthwhile? Man, with all those Subies, you must own stock in FHI!

i would be interested as well as to how gtbguy sourced his projector headlights.... i have a colleague in japan (not a car person unfortunately), search around for a used undamaged set, but has discovered that they are also in high demand among the non-gtb legacy owner's over there as well!

and those 17" gtb wheels shown above were going for $300usd.... but seller will not ship. sigh.

Wow! I hadn't seen those before, but add me to the list of "People Who Want the GT-B Projector Headlamps and Combo Fog/Driving Lights". Both of those look absolutely sweet!!

i think airfare to japan is running around $900. so you could fly over and pick up the wheels for about $1200. plus get some other things while youre there.

actually, im thinking about a world cup/subaru shopping spree trip in 2002.

Well the projector lights were kind of a pain to wire up (since I wanted everything to look as factory as possilbe) The OEM's don't come in HID, so that was an extra Phillips HID H1 kit I bought. As for how I got them. Well, I had some friends that worked for FHI in Japan... they weren't cheap either. I got them brand new for ~$3600USD for the pair.(not including the HID conversion)

As for advantages, well with the HID H1 conversion, I have wicked lighting capabilities w/o tonnes of aux. lights (Although I am planning to convert my stock GT fogs to HID)

I had the PIAA superwhites in before I swapped over... and believe me its a night and day difference. And now, I still have high beams (vs. my Legacy L w/ the HID conversion, which I lost my high-beams).

Well I only have 2 Subarus... I wish I had an '98 RS too!

Well, Got word back from japanparts.com on the combo lights for the GT. He says we need the JDM bumper and support(?)off the JDM Turbo car and he can supply them. Unless (?) you're willing to make the modifications to the US spec bumper/cover. I have no idea how extensive that mod might be. I'll be inquiring further about this and price, as well as the projector headlamps.More later.

ADD: Just re-read the e-mail and there was no mention of any support(doh?!)Must have been another LSD flash-back or somethin' Just requires the JDM Bumper.

Ben, I have requested further detail, including close-up pics of the JDM Bumper, the lamps and brackets. Sure hope he'll be able to come through with them. Then maybe we'll be able to judge the extent of modifications required to accomodate those Combo-lamps. Maybe it's not that major!
Also asked specifically about the HeadLamps application and a compatability comparison for JDM vs USSpec. Looks like he's in Tokyo. I suggested a chart on their web-site also showing compatability year to year. Let's see if Graham comes through.

again, i'm confused... if u follow the link i supplied above, that is a north american outback with the jdm projector headlights. he says it's a straight bolt-on mod with no modifications other than the lighting harness. it is also non-HID.

i hope it's not a dishonestly issue, where the seller is trying to sell unecessary parts

Ben, Slow down a sec! My original query to Japanparts was about the combo fog/driving lamps. As I indicated above, I am now waiting on a reply about the headlights and fitment details. Patience my friend. If it's meant to be...
