Default EGT problem???

I have been trying to install some Gruppe-s headers this afternoon, and while trying to install the EGT probe I come up with a little problem.

I removed the stock exhaust headers & installed the tap for the EGT probe into the Gruppe-s headers with out a problem... When I began to tightened the set screw I noticed that it was kinda hard to turn so I tried to back it out to see if it was cross-threaded and it did not budge... so a long story short the set screw is some how stuck inside the tap and I can't tighten or loosen the set screw because the alen key is striped. soooo I sent AutoMeter an e-mail tonight telling them my situation and to request a new tap, but my question is what do I do in the mean time???

I might try to take some exhaust rap and strap to hold it into place for the next few days until I get the replacement, or should I get a ride down to the hardware store to get a bolt that will fit the hole in my header to plug it?

I just need a temporary fix for the next few days to get too and from work...

Thanks for looking

would you be able to JBweld the allen key on just to remove the tap since it's ruined anyways?

I was thinking of using JBweld to hold the probe in please but its only rated at 300 degrease.

I'll try the JBweld and let you know

it has nothing to do with the headers every thing went fine installing them, but getting this dame EGT probe to work is a pain.

went to the hardware store and they don't have a 1/8 NPT to fit the hole all they have is one size too big. do you guys think if I use a stainless steel strap to hold the probe in place would work???

I'm installing my egt today and have a quick question, sorry to hijack. The cylinder that runs the leanest is #4 (driver side [US] rear), correct?
