Thumbs up Waiting for the 2007 Tribeca

Went to the dealer to start the process of ordering a B9. (we want lots of options put on and none were on the lot that we wanted) and were informed the next day when the dealer called about the new stuff on the 2007.

XM Ready (which was one of my worries cause I already have 3 receivers and I really didnt want to have to mount something on the dash)

iPod dock (now I wont have to buy an FM modulator for my GFs iPod)

New trim line (we'll just have to wait to see what they changed there)

Better rims and tires (also just have to wait and see)

Backup sensors in the rear bumper

There going to call back and let us know when is the soonest we can order one.

1.) If you get a DVD model you can plug in your ipod in the back... (not good for changing music though) '07 is not a dock... it's a jack... you have to navigate the ipod on the ipod

2.) There is a special package for limited models that includes chrome wheels (same wheels chromed and same tires), xm radio, and a mesh grill. approximately $1300

3.) Nav models get backup camera... backup sensors can be added to any models including '06s

4.) 3 new colors... 3 colors go bye bye

07 Tribecas begin delivery in May... my guess is final details will be available next month.

to '06 or not to '06 that is the question

When I FINALLY buy a Tribeca, I'll get the mesh grille and the chrome wheels though I might black out the mesh grille to make it look better.

Well, if the 'Aspen White' Perl is gone, I can easily say we will be looking for a different Subaru then.

Has anyone heard of a confirmed release date for the 2007. I want to buy one now, but rather have the 2007 model.

Thanks.

I'm hearing ordering starts in May for June delivery. My wife and I are going to the delaership to start looking at the Tribeca seriously (Okay, I'm already sold, but my wife needs to ok it). We start negotiating tomorrow perhaps, but if I get concrete info on the '07, and can get a good deal on it, I'll try to hold off as it is a much better value all around...

Either way, wish me luck as you all know how Tribeca gaga I am...

Unhappy

Test drove the Tribeca 7 passenger today, was not impressed by the navigation system at all, as well as the 2nd and 3rd row seating access and configuration. Plan to seek another vehicle. Perhaps wait for the 07 MDX.

ingress... egress are the same for all 7 passenger cross over suvs. Were you made aware of the secondary release lever to further move the second row? The Nav is what it is. It's a Kenwood system. Other than not being voice activated... I really like it.

More importantly, why would someone take the time to join a vehicle specific forum, for a vehicle you don't have, only to rag on it? Do you really have nothing better to do?

I find the Tribeca to have plenty of 2nd row seat room, especially when not using the 3rd row. And yes, the 3rd row is tight but it's a nice convenience for a vehicle of its size. If I wanted a minivan, I would have bought a minivan. My kids love the 3rd row.

If you are bothered by 2nd and 3rd row leg room, mini-van or Chevy Suburban is your only choice. I've tried MDX and Pilot and they are all similar.

I will be a Tribeca owner probably by week's end!! My wife greenlit the thing when our friend at the dealership gave us an unbeatable deal so good I can't mention specifics.

I also got a great trade-in offer on my 03 LL Bean Outback that has just over 100,000 miles... much more than expected though we are going to try to sell it privately first. If no sale by the end of the week, we will trade in.

Considering I've already had one of those used dealerships contact me about within minutes of posting the ad for my '03 LL Bean Outback online and I've also had someone else call and then come to test drive it, I might sell it faster than expected (being its in great shape also helps!).

Oh yeah, I'll be getting an '06 Atlantic Blue Pearl with dark grey leather, Nav, DVD, and puddle lights as I originally wanted.

Oops, I think I may have soiled myself!!

Oh yeah, if anyone is interested in an '03 LL Bean Outback with Onstar and 102,000 miles for about $13,200, PM me! Serious offers only, Socal locals only preferrably for ease of sale. The car;s in great shape, but I need a bigger (Tribeca) vehicle as I have another kid on the way.

Tribeca completely and utterly surprised me and my wife. We're waiting for the 2007 model. Fitzgerald Automall tried to sweeten the deal on the end of year '06 for us but we want to see the '07 model.

We still have to see Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes. Lexus got the boot once we looked at the Tribeca.
