Can't get enough of cars? Thanks to the creative minds at Mini Statements, you can now indulge your passion at the office, with just about any model transformed into a petrolhead's dream workstation.
Since being saved from the crusher, this Mini has had a little nip and tuck! The roof has been chopped off, plus a hole cut in the door and floorpan to accommodate a chair. The wooden top, which is covered in vinyl and finished neatly at both ends, stretches from windscreen to boot. Storage is plentiful, as the carpeted load area and empty engine bay are perfect for keeping files and stationery.
You can order the desk built in one or three pieces. With the former, you can have a rolling chassis, but make sure you can get it into your office before ordering. As long as your floor is not sloping, it won't go anywhere - although manoeuvring can be a bit tricky as the steering wheel has been removed. A more practical option is to get the three-section desk, which is mounted on a frame for easy access to just about any office. All shells are coated in a non-toxic paint, and sharp edges have been removed.
Options include a logbook for around £20, a paint job with the number of your choice on the door or bonnet, costing about £200, and a leather desk top from £350. And if that isn't enough, Mini Statements will quote for getting the car even closer to the real thing with a selection of sports wheels, working lights and even a horn!
Price is £2,500. More information from ministatements@btinternet.co.uk or telephone 0238 0813625
