Question Car rolls in park...help!

My 92 Legacy L sedan w/ an automatic and AWD, rolls when put into park...when parking brake is activated, it doesn't it roll. Some guys form the USMB, said the parking pin was broke...does this sound right...or is there another culprit?

That's possible, but alot of American cars roll too when you shove it into park w/o the parking brake. Very very minimal roll is ok, but if it's like 2" or something, there could be some concern.

Hey Mr. Bean, when you say your auto trany rolls when put into park, are you talking about the kind of rolling a manual does when in Neutral or are you talking about 2-3" after removing foot from break?

Wink

The kind of roll where the foot is off the brake, and the shifter is in park.

Found the problem, there was a recall issued for this problem, and many owners did not feel it was important enough to have the problem fixed, so the Subaru man at the dealership is gonna fix it Sunday night.

*To all with early Legacys, you might want to have your dealer see if this affects your car, if the work was done, and is it too late to have the work done*
