oh fyi...ONLY 1 dealership for Koenigsegg for all of the US

Quote:
Las Vegas, NV Feb 6, 2006; Koenigsegg Automotive AB, the Swedish supercar manufacturer, of Sweden has named Exotic Cars, located in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, to be the first and only dealer in the United States for its exclusive supercars. A version of the world's fastest production car is now on display in the Exotic Cars Showroom at Caesars Las Vegas.

Koenigsegg is the manufacturer of the CCR, the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of over 250 mph. The U.S. version, dubbed the CCX, will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show at the beginning of March 2006. The 806 HP, 2200 pound carbon fibre supercar goes 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and runs the standing quarter mile in just 9 seconds at 146 mph.

"We couldn't be happier," said Richard Weisman, CEO of Exotic Cars. "In addition to being the fastest production car, it is also one of the most impressively engineered vehicles ever made."

Exotic Cars at Caesars Palace currently displays more than 40 vehicles with prices in excess of $1 million, including such exclusive lines as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley. Thousands of people visit the two-story, 34,000-square-foot showroom each day.

Koenigsegg plans to deliver a limited number of cars during the first year, and orders are being taken on a first come, first served basis. The base price for this prestigious automobile is $650,000.

I don't know if you can get a Pagani Zonda here in the States, but it's about the same price and much nicer looking, IMO.

I've always loved the Koenigsegg. And this is one of the best looking ones I've seen yet.

very cool looking...but not 650k cool. I think the Modena looks better...and if speed truly is my concern, I wouldn't waste 650k on that. And the car thing at Ceasar's is neat, but the car simulator is prolly the best thing there.

i have no personal experience, but ive heard from various exotic car forums (lambopower, ferrarichat, etc) that the koenigsuck (as they call it) is really not as good as its claimed to be. supposedly all the test cars have been ringers with much more power than normal, and that the manufacturer creates a huge hassle when stuff breaks under warrantee. this is all speculation of course, i wouldnt mind taking one.

I dont know... really for $650k, thats a lot of car. What other car runs a 9sec 1/4? The Bugatti Veyron maybe, but thats double the price. Not to mention, this is one of the coolest, most exclusive cars out there.

There is a 5th gear reveiw of it floating around... Tiff drove it and was not impressed at all.. It even broke on him as well too... The spokesman for the company was there saying that when people buy the cars, they are signing up to be test drivers for the company. He also mentioned that most of the time, the company owner will fly out to fix the cars himself if anything went wrong with them.

It is interesting though that when the original came out hoping to topple the McLaren F1, it wasn't fast enough.. So they released a second version with the boost cranked up, and that one still could not crack the McLaren in the top speed department. Gordon Murray was never impressed by the car either, and thought that it was just designed to be the fastest car in a straight line, and was not as pure as the McLaren F1. It is not until they came out with this version of the car I believe that they cracked the McLaren in the top speed department....

When the Veyron came out and wasted everything (including thesecond version of that barely beat the McLaren), it seems as if Koenigsegg went and cranked up the boost some more on the engine bumping things up to 800+HP now to topple the Veyron. It really makes me wonder now who actually has the fastest car in the world. It is supposed to be the Veyron, and that is one of its major selling points, but with the hopped up CC now, I am not so sure who has it.

If you look for the Gumball run for last year i think, there is a young guy who ran it with the car. It kept breaking down.....

Oh.... and can anybody spot the Mazda FD RX7 lights at the back?

I agree with the others. $650k seems too much for that car. Give me a Murci, F430, and Porsche 997T for that price.
