Default 485hp Pumpgas/Meth with an FP-Red

Just finished up another customer car, this car we actually did a baseline run on before we did any mods. The customer brought us and bone stock 2005 STI (dyno run#2). We then unstrapped it off the dyno and began adding on a list of parts, which include: Fp-Red, perrin Big Maf, helix injectors, perrin 3" inlet pipe, SMC meth injection, APS turbo back exhaust, Turbo XS fmic, walboro fuel pump, tgv delete, act clutch, and topspeed protune. We then put her back onto the dyno to see what kinda of numbers we could get (dyno #7). Boost would spike 28psi then fall to around 26 (Internal Wastegate wouldn't hold anymore). The AFR's were 10.9 to redline, we didn't want to push it to hard on pump. I was amazed that even with the big maf we were hitting 4.86 volts. I would imagine with and external gate and some race gas this turbo would have no problem hitting 500hp.

Enjoy

Doug

SAE is the national standard, it is what is used so that weather conditions such as humidity, temp and barometric pressure are all acounted for. SAE is the most common correction used since you can dyno a car on two different days and have the real gains shown, not just a gain in power because its colder out. Since we didn't dyno this car on the same day it only makes since to use the SAE correction to rule out any additional power gained because of the weather.
To be honest the uncorrected numbers are higher due to the fact its cold outside, and IIRC the uncorrected numbers were around 495ish...

p.s congrats on your car, those are some sick numbers.

Wow... once again TopSpeed proves power. A baseline BONE STOCK dyno, then installed parts, then a tuned dyno... you can't get any more accurate than that!! Almost 100% increase!! Sickness.....

Well I just got back to Charlotte. Driveablility is awsome with this turbo! I havnt had a chance to test out the power too much since its so wet outside. I get no traction so I couldnt test it out. This is on the stock block, I am planning on putting in a built motor after the summer. The car is smooth as can be, runs great!

thats a great comparo for this turbo against a stock STI.

really nice improvement over the stock baseline. (area under the curve and not just peak)

They didnt have any of the bungs for the blow through maf in stock when I was there. The drivability is BEAUTIFUL without it though. I may add it on later, but it doesnt seem nessesary so far.

Yea the area under the curve really shows how great this turbo and setup are. Not just top end horsepower, this setup makes some KILLER torque to throw you back in your seat in ALL gears!

Hey Doug, any impression on tuning using the Helix injectors? Are they really a straight drop in and as easy or easier to tune than PE's?

isnt 10.9 a bit rich for having Meth injection? Were you able to run it a bit leaner for more power?
