Default 4500 rpm governor?

i recently totalled my 99 rs, and i'm about to buy another exactly the same. here's the deal, on the one i'm about to buy it doesn't go past 4500 rpms. Is this a normal thing from the factory because my last one went to red line. What's up with this? is it easily removable?

Why isn't the speed sensor hooked up? You trying to cheat on the milage on the car?

he stated this is on a car he's attempting to buy, so if anything the previous owner has been messing with the sensor. . .

To the OP, i would walk away from any car that is suspect of having odo issues.

....d000000d......he likely don't give a rats ass about the odo.....as long as the body is in good shape, the miles are irrelevant

how did you come to the conclusion he doesn't care about miles? His question was regarding a part of the drivetrain so i was under the assumption he would be keeping the drivetrain.

If he's not keeping the current drivetrain, then who cares about the RPM limiter in the first place?
