Gino,

I've got a question on the scoobysport downpipe, well kind of anyway.

I read somewhere that even though your running catless (if you've mod'd the uppipe) there is a device that tricks the O2 sensor and doesn't give CEL.

Have you heard of this and can you get it? if so how much for the downpipe installed with this device?

Sorry for all the questions,

Mike

Mike

Rally Performance has been working on that since the WRX came out. Tito is also thinking of contacting the ECU folks that he deals with to do a link that will also help us do mods and totally eliminate the CEL problem (he is 100% sure it will go away). So far so good mine hasnt come on yet, But the others have already. Last I heard from Scoobsport that they are bulking up on the inventory for the fix. I'll check with them again. I still believe that the CEL fix will be with the link device because we have done it before with the OBDII stuff and had more gains as well. My advice is sit tight and wait. Maybe you can start a thread asking anyone that has the o2 sensor mounted after the highflow cat and if they (majority) have no CEL anymore. I know we did over 15 installs and I believe about 8 of them we installed the o2 after the highflow cat. I will be doing the same thing on my car soon when I get a chance. Hope this helps a bit Mike. But the Scoobysport exhaust is the best sounding and downpipe wise I LOVE IT ! I got a full system on my car and you are all welcome for a test drive. I still need the bolt Mike.LOL

Thanks

Gino

Default CEL Issues

Hello all - howdy Gino!

Noted the question on the CEL issue - here's the scoop:

For any customers buying a ScoobySport downpipe prior to the release of the CEL fix, the fix will be yours for free. It has been tested, and went into production last month... the production plan changed when ScoobySport decided to go with a printed circuit board to make a very nice installation. It should be available very shortly.

Regards,
Ken Cole

hey gino, sorry i never made it. i think i already have hi-flow cats. the diamater looks alot wider than stock size but i noticed i have 2 cats. one RIGHT after the turbo and the other one near the passanger wheel.... im wondering if 1 cat is enough and if it would be ok to gut 1 of them (ok as in, you still cant smell it).

Hey Andrew,

I think they open @ 10:30am(that could be for weekends thought).

Hey Gino,

I'm headed over Sat after I give my parents a ride to the airport. It will probably be in the early afternoon but I'll call first. I have a bunch a stuff to install. I'll also need a midpipe made( I can wait on this one).

Question rims and upgrades

hey gino,
its been a while since i talk to you. how's it goin'. anyways, i am in the process of getting me some rims and upgrading my scooby. FINALLY! i wanted to know what size rims and tires do you recommend. i found the style, but i need your help in deciding what size??? i was looking at 17X8 with 225 & 235/45, or 18X8 with 235 & 245/40. would lowering the car be a problem with any of the options. also, i am trying to order a flywheel and pulley. what brand would you recommend (i was thinking unorthodox)? also a BOV & what brand? i talk to tito already about installation. OR maybe you sell any of these parts i am looking for in your shop or you know stores that do. when is the best time to call you or meet with you? everytime i call the shop or past by, you're not there. here's my # 1 415 412-1798, call me when you get the chance or e-mail me back. take your time i know you a busy man. by the way, what time do you normally attend church? i never see you at the 7:30pm mass. Thanks again! Church bro, Jomel (jojo).

homerjay and Andrew

We open 9:30 am - 5:30 pm sometimes we stay late. Saturday I will stop by the shop for a few hours only (got to get ready for family day) so I'll see you guys then. Andrew is it the oil leak ???

Jojo

I go to the noon mass. We need to talk about your tires and rims set up. The set up you mentioned is a bit too wide, If you want to go with those sizes you wont have the luxury of a Subaru exclusive wheel. Proper offset is a must for handling and clearances. Call my cell phone and we will chat. I'll be in the shop this afternoon to work on my car.

Thanks
