I disassembled the grill peices and sanded the hell out of the chrome. Then I sprayed them with SEM trim paint. We will see how long it lasts. If it dosent Ill take it all back down then have the chrome sandblasted off. Then start all over.

I took the blue off of the back side of the emblem and painted it pink. The wife has a band (you can see the banner in the back www.customgrind.net) and shes into pink and black. She drives it more then I do, so what ever keeps her happy.

The peices are really pretty easy to get off. I was suprised. I had em all out and the lights out in less then 1/2 hour.

I want to see how this works out before I tackle the door handles.

It looks really good like that.

Is there any aftermarket for the B9?

If you want to leave the outside rings chrome Id suggest just dropping the coin for some 07 NON SE grill peices. Thats how the 07s come stock

And I did more looking at the headlights.

I will probably have pictures Sunday or Monday.

And unfortunatly Ive been looking ALOT and I havent found any aftermarket stuff.

I drive for my job so I have lots of time to think. I think I want to make a true dual exhaust. When I do Ill make some Jigs.

Also...If I still own this when the warrenty is up Ill have to look into some Low boost turbochargers. Just 5-8lbs. Not much more. This thing has 10.7:1 CR. Ill have to actually sit down and do the math. I figger that and have MC play with the puter and fuel (bigger injectors?) and see what I can do.

I wonder if the 3.0 and the 2.0/2.5 in WRXs use the same pistons and rods.

Sounds interesting, but the pic seems a little screwed up. There are some odd-colored reflections making your work hard to make out. In fact, the logo turned red in this image (Yuck!)!!

I'd love to see a better image without all of the lighting problems.

nope its pink..they way it was designed.

Well this was really just a test. I will have to sandblast all the chrome off and repaint it. But even with a few chips it looks alot better then stock.

Dammit Jim! Im a mechanic not a damn photographer!

In my day there used to be a semi permanent black trim tape that could be used.

I'm thinking of something weird now... Black out all the chrome except for the front rings on the low beam and parking light... completely black out the high beam. I wonder what that would look like.

the pistons and rods are not the same and will not work.

Where are you located? i would love to do a custom header/ dual exhaust for a tribeca if you want

I am working on turboing my H6 motor, also have thoughts of a TT setup if someone is interested in trying it

I actually dont think the headlights look too bad, but IMO if you are going to black them, leave the chrome bezels around the lights, I think that would look sick.

Seeing this car really makes me want to mod a Tribeca

such a huge grill area for Dual FMIC's and filters...

Im in Kansas City. I am wanting to wait for the warrenty to be up before I start modding anything mech.

I would like to mold in the Fog lights and buckets/bezels from a 02-03 WRX. I hate the tiny fogs. It loses the Rally look of the bug eyes.

I actually want to get the chrome mesh grille on mine (when I finally get one), but then blackout the mesh. I like the mesh look, but I think the chrome is waaaaay over the top.

I think it would depend on color... Black mesh would be hot on all models.... Chrome mesh on darker models but only with the chrome wheels.

I'll take the chrome wheels though as the non-chrome feel like they are missing something...
