Default burning software for double layer dvd RW

Just wondering for those who knows what program i can use for a drive like this? I recently got a laptop with this drive, and my old nero v 5.5 can't detect the drive. Thanks

I have nero 5.5.x but it doesn't work
The laptop i have is a dell 710m that i just got about a week ago, and i would like to utilize the dvd burner, but nero just would not detect the drive. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade your Nero. I have the latest Nero 7.0.5.4 and it's awesome.

Unfortunately, my Plextor PX-716A is dying a slow death, 1 month after the warranty expired. Also, stuck having to buy another PX-716A because it looks like the Lite-On's are crap right now (troubles with DVD-R). *sigh*

if you are doing no compression on the DL, just get DVD Decrypter (free) and make an ISO then burn it.

What brand is your burner? Have you searched the manufacturer's site for a specific driver? My double-layer Sony came bundled with Nero 6 and it works fine.

As did my dual-layer Lite-On, and my girlfriend's dual-layer Samsung.

Something else is wrong.

i got my laptop and it's a dell 710 but i didn't opt for the burning software since i figured i'd be able to salvage my nero to do the job now i'm sorta stuck.
