Does anyone know how to pull check engine codes? I would like to be able to do this myself now that the light has come on. Weird
that it didnt come on till after a week of the problem persisting, but now that its there, I would like to know what it is.

you might want to search the big forums for OBD-2, OBD2, OBD-II, or some combination thereof... that will get you more detailed info.

My boss bought this connector: http://www.obd-2.com/

You need a laptop, but the software is *great*...

edit - Which model Legacy do you have? If it is a 2000, you could have the Infamous A/F Sensor - ECU problem... all covered by warranty, simple fix. (they replace the ECU and rear A/F sensor)

Hey thats the same prob I had! Turned out it was a spark plug. I had that whole hesitation problem for like 2 weeks before the engine light came on. The whole time I thought it was the famous hesitation problem, and was ready to get garys fix when the engine light came on. I took it in and payed 67.50 to find out it was a faulty plug. Might want to check those first? Just a suggestion if you haven't already.
