Hello,
My car an 03 WRX is sitting in a Cobb stage 2 form. I want to do a TGV delete and a Samco turbo inlet hose. Im just wondering what this will do to my tune on the stock stage 2 map. I would like to get a protune but there is no protuner in my area. I f i complete bothe the TGV and Samco hose install will it still be safe to drive around on the stock stage 2 map? Your opinions and help are greately appreciated. Thanks Dan MODS INCULDE: Borla headers STI uppipe COBB catted downpipe Apexi cat-back Samco intercooler hoses AP stock STG2 map

The turbo inlet would be fine, but I wouldn't do the TGV delete without getting it protuned.

Can anyone else coment on this for me. Does anyone on this board have a stage 2 car on the stock AP stage 2 map with a TGV delet complete? I thought if I did this it would only increase the flow a little bit. How much can it affect the AFR. I just dont see how those little flaps would make that much difference. The Samco inlet hose would be done just for reliability. Anyone out there with the TGV delet completed without a custome tune?
Thanks Dan |

I don't know if this helps, but I have an uppipe, turbo inlet hose and ic hoses on top of my Cobb stg. 2 setup.
IAM is still at 16. ![]() |

You could probably get by with the tune and a TGV delete. Of course there is a CEL involved in doing it unless you get the APS kit which fixes it.

I plan on leaving the rod in connecting the motor and the sensor on the TGV so that should take car of the CEL issue. Im just wondering if there is anyone on this board that has done the TGV dlete on a stage 2 car, but is still running the the stock stage 2 map? Can you actually get away with this mod and not do a custom tune? I have read about people doing the TGV dlete and letting the cars ECU learn, and then having good luck with smooth isles and good power on top. Anyone with experience please lend a hand.
Thanks Dan |

The Unabomber ran stage 2 with every imaginable bolt on. He eventually switched to, IIRC, ecutek and a custom tune, and saw a sizeable gain in power. Which comes back to the same point made above by subieworx and so many other post in the 2.0 forum. You may see some gains from additionals mods beyond stage 2, but you will not reap all of the benefits without a professional tune.

I would save my money for a trip to get pro-tuned even if I had to drive a good distance. You'll get more hp. TGV deletes and inlet hoses won't really do much for you.
