Default how loud is this muffler?

so i have an hks style knockoff dual-tip muffler laying around and i'm wondering if i should install it; i have no idea how loud it will be. i want a nice rumble, not a roar... i'm sure you know what i mean anyway, does anyone know around how loud this muffler would be? are we talking 80, 90, 100, or more, decibels? the inlet is 2.5" and the two outlets are 3". it's straight-through, i.e there's nothing between the inlet and oulets. oh car is 97obs 2.2l.

i used to have a strait thru muffler with nothing else done to my 02wrx. it didn't sound loud, but it did sound very nice. my friend whose civic it came from was asking why it never made his car sound like that, hahahaha. btw, this was way back in the day when HKS carbon-ti was the only good exhaust.

i say go for it, you'll love the way it sounds. that design looks like its gonna be a lot louder than you'd expect.

Yea if your putting it on the stock system it should be ok . If you were catless and all it would probably scream!

Why not just bolt it up and find out for yourself it's too loud? That would probably be the best way to find out. There's really no way for US to tell how loud or quiet it will be from just looking at a picture.

Yeah, why wouldn't you bolt it on and see. It takes like 15 minutes total to take off and put on...

I'm betting that box isn't doing much to control resonation. Looks like a pretty cheaply slapped together unit (eBay?) and therefore actual sound and performance were probably far from the minds of the designers.

Looks to me like it would have to be welded on and hangers also welded on . How do you guys see it as a simple bolt on / unbolt if he doesn't like it ? It's not and axel back it's just a universal muffler.

Duct tape and aluminum dryer hose work wonders!

But if you do have to weld it, then it's not even worth putting on IMO. Get something that bolts up so that it can be undone down the road...
