Default JDM Fogs installed on '05 WRB STi - Nightshots

* 3/2/06 UPDATE - See Page 2 for INSTALLATION Notes & Pix *

Here's my first photoshoot with them on...I'll be posting some further installation/bumper beam cutting pix and comments shortly.

The installation was not bad, I recruited the brother-in-law for help with the USDM bumper beam cutting (thanks Dan!)...everything else was a piece of cake.

I've only had them on there for a day, but so far I think they're pretty awesome. The light distribution is yellow, and is spread fairly close to the front of the car, and actually extends a good amount on the sides. It really creates an (even more) aggressive style from the front.

The ion coating on the lens is amazing, both when the fogs are on and off. Changes from blue to yellow to green, etc. You can't really capture that in a photo.

Hey, which ion coating is that? you know how there's suppose to be "yellow, blue, or white" option when you order...which one is that?

You have one very sexy car my friend. I'd love to do the JDM fogs, however I don't wanna cut the bumper beam. And your wheels = sex.

I ordered from:

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partsli...dle=2&small=20

Part #069-006-009 FOG SURROUND GARNISH PAIR (color WR Blue(2C)) = $60.98

Part #153-006-005 LARGE FOG LAMP KIT / MULTI COATING = $260.87

* the prices change a bit based on USD <-> YEN conversion

Shipping was $46.96 (to Chicago)
Surcharge was $19.41 (Customs Tax?)

Total = $388.23 = handsome price

Ordered it on a Saturday night, came the following SUNDAY. Yes, I said Sunday, just around 1 week...that's including it sitting in Customs for a day or so in Chicago.

The crazy thing was that I was planning on it taking 10-15 days to come, so I figured I'd get an early start and get the bumper off and beam prepped that Sunday. The fricking USPS guy dropped it off WHILE we were cutting the bumper beam...what kick-ass timing!

I have the same ones, but in clear. One of the best mods I have ever done to my car. Expensive though, b/c I bought a bumper beam with it. But otherwise, I love it. My drivers side fog just burned out today though. After about 5 months.

Love em. Beam spread is hard to exaggerate. Now I can see the apex of a corner at night!

I used this link to get the grille and bumper off. This guy went with the JDM beam, though.

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2540

I used this link below to see what the "before" and "after" USDM beam trim looked like. Some people go buckwild and hack off the the whole end of each side. The pix in this thread show that there isn't really that much material that needs to be removed.
