Default Stereo removal instructions for 2003 Impreza?

I need to find instructions on how to remove the stock stereo from a 2003 Impreza (has the basic single-disc CD player). I'm sure the information is already available somewhere here but my searches only found a not-too-detailed set of instructions for a 2005. A pointer to a thread or FAQ that covers stereo removal in detail would be appreciated.

I made an abortive attempt to get in there last night. Seems like one should be able to pry off the bezel that covers that stereo and climate controls but I couldn't get it to budge, at least not without applying so much force that I'd risk damage. I removed the cup-holder above the stereo and then managed to get the center vents mostly popped-out but the driver-side corner would not come loose so I abandoned that approach as I suspect coming in from the top probably isn't the answer. I imagine center console removal might be required but I wasn't able to tell if it would all need to come out or only a portion of it.

Thanks,

andrem

With the cup holder out, pry gently on the top of the cover around the stereo. It is held in with clips. You don't have to touch the vents at all. The cover will pop off, then you will find four screws holding the deck in. Remove the screws and the deck comes out.

^^ what he said. Once you do it, you will realize how simple it is.
