Default 90 legacy 2.2l swap with 2000's wrx 2.5 turbo

ive got a 90' Legacy LS 2.2L (NA), and i want to drop in a 2000 wrx 2.5 turbo, i have asked many people about it and they all said it should fit but im still not sure about the turbo fitting and especialy the intercooler which sits ontop of the engine, i dont want to have to modify the engine bay any tho, is there anyway i could move the intercooler up front?

i know were i can get the engine for about $200 (junkyard), and i know i need the wiring harness and the computer, but is there anything else? do i need the tranny?

Are you in the states? If so, there was no 2000 WRX engine. The WRX was introduced in 2002.

Either way, everything will fit. Check out www.bbs.legacycentral.org

Dude,
An hour without a reply on this forum is nothing. Relax! If you get impatient and pissy, people will just ignore you! Most of us surf from work and only post between 9am-5pm.

For starters, there is no such thing as a 2000 2.5l WRX engine in ANY country. A $200 2.5l engine is likely an early NA Ej25 and not a turbo engine.

Beyond that, there is nothing different about doing a swap in your Legacy than doing a swap in a mid 90's Impreza. Stimpy's FAQ at the top of this forum will get you a very very detailed idea of what is required and needed. Do not try and buy the parts piecemeal and put something together. You will spend thousands more and many months putting it all together...

ok sorry i didnt mean to come off rude, i didnt realy mean 2000 i meant 2000's i should have been specific but one of the newer 2.5 turbos is what i want. i wasnt going to buy parts from a store, i was going to scrap them off a car (preferably all off one car). im pretty sure most all thier engines are between $100 and $500, but realy as long as i can find one under maybe $800 (with wiring harness and in good condition) that would do. if i cant find all i need under $1500 i might just throw away the idea

Where the hell is this dismantler? 2.5L turbo longblocks go for the $4000-5000 range, not $400-500. If that price is for real, I need an engine or two...

its a junkyard, my friend pulled a new 460 out of a truck for $200, they go by the weight of it i asume or something another(thats how they make money when they crush the car and sell it to metal works). if you bought induvidual parts of the engine and peiced it together it would cost alot more, ill post the real price when i go look at some

its Liberty Pull Apart in Indiana

I really doubt that a pick and pull junkyard in Indiana is stocking wrecked STis. Something doesn't add up here.
