Default Need A Good Shop Near The Detroit, MI area for my install and tune

I will be purchasing my VF34...STi Pinks...Helix TMIC very soon, and I need a good shop to do the install, and that has a protuner for my cobb ap. I'm definitly not going to Godspeed, and I'm located about 1 hour north of Detroit, and godspeed is about 45-50 minutes, but I don't mind driving an hour or two for a good shop, since they'll be installed the turbo and injectors for me, and i'll get a dyno tune on the spot. godspeed quoted me 4 hours of installation for the injectors and turbo @ $80 per hour, which isn't as bad as i thought. Even somewhere near the Ohio/Michigan border wouldn't be out of the question. Let me know if you guys know of any great shops near me that do very good installs and are well known, that also do protunes. Thanks in advance!!!

Why are you so opposed to Godspeed?? And the only other remotely close tuner I know of would be Buschur, but that is half way to Cleveland from the MI border I would guess. And he is just now starting to look at the AP for tuning.

Dan's a good guy - and a good tuner - give Godspeed a try

From other posts I've read, it seems that Godspeed tunes with Utec, but not AP.

Have they recently started tuning AP too?

LittleAP783: please let me know which shop you end up using, and your experiences with them. I'll be getting an AP and TBE around summer time, possibly stepping up to a VF37 and STi pinks. I'm around the Ann Arbor area, and I'd like to know good shops around here as well.

Thanks

I have always heard great things about Payn Technologies in Troy. Their tuner is supposed to be one of the best in the mid-west. Not sure if they tune with AP but its worth a call.

none of them have teh ProTUNER. Buschur is looking at it and Christian (from Cobb) used my wagon as a vehicle to demo the software to David Buschur. Al (DynoFlash) has it, and is tuning subies on March 19th (spots are filled) at Buschur.

i have Tim Bailey (PDXTuning) coming to Buschur Racing on march 24th - 26th, but all my 16 spots for the tuning weekend are filled.

for $150 you can get a semi-custom map from PDX. a friend is runing one on his VF34, pinks, Perrin TMIC and he likes it. another friend is running a Stg2 map that PDX did for his setup (Stg2 + TXS TMIC)

an alternative is load the VF34 map for the AP, and drive to Chicago to P&L and get tuned by Jorge.

disclaimer: i have no association with Buschur Racing. they are the only ones with an AWD Dyno in the Cleveland area. i am just renting their Mustang Dyno for the PDX Tuning weekend that i set up.

Don't go to AutoWerks? That's funny, because these days AutoWerks = GodSpeed.

They merged to form "The Tuning Factory".

Tom (tomp <at> payntechnologies <dot> com) can tune it (and can tune anything, really), but he doesn't have the ProTuner... If I had an Accessport, I would get the StreetTuner anyway, so that I'm not tied down to only Cobb dealers for tuning... but that's just how I am.
