65k Miles - Loss of power / Mileage
A few weeks ago, my car started getting noticably lower mileage (~3-4 mpg drop) and doesn't have the throttle response it used to (ie: a specific depression of the pedal does not accelerate as it used to). It's got almost 65k miles and is an 03 automatic WRX. I'm planning on doing some maintenance on it this weekend but just wanted to have a checklist of possible problem areas to check out.
The Subaru scheduled maintenance for an 03 at 60k is primarily the list below, but I just wanted to see if there was something specific to the problem I should check too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How likely is it at 65k to have to repack the wheel bearings? Almost all my miles are freeway commuting miles. I wanted to avoid the charge for the 60k service, but if there's something I should specifically have Subaru look at, that would be helpful also.
