Tari's ecuExplorer will work with the Cobb AP cable. You don't need an internet connection to use these datalogger programs.

If you are looking to back up your ecu and upload it onto your hard drive the cobb cable will not work. A specific baud rate is required.

AKA - Cobb is fine for datalogger but not reflashing without correct chipset

....d0000000000000000000000000d....does yer old laptop have a usb?????....and the box ya on the net with, too?????????

If so a removeable drive like a little usb 'thumb drive' is great......ya can get 'em in just about any capacity from 8mb for a couple bux on the 'net to all the way over 1GB for ~$100.....they are fantastic for transfering data between 'puters....I'd buy at least 512mb, anyway, so ya can save and transfer yer logs to yer 'net box so's ya can upload 'em if necessary.

User guide doesn't work because it's a PDF file. You probably don't have Acrobat Reader on the laptop. And no, you can't fit that onto a floppy. The setup file is too big.

Once you start up the program you need to select your com port. Once done it should show the type of ecu its connected to. Then just click the + box and select real time data. Once there select the parameters you would like to view. There is a wealth of information that can be found on the tari.co.za forums. Such as LOAD and IAM for differnt vehicles.
