The Mazda3 facelift retains the two derivatives of the MZCD 1.6-litre common-rail turbo diesel engine for European customers (depending on market offer), both offering high torque and power with low diesel fuel consumption. Added to this are enhancements to the body shell along with improved damper performance and improved aerodynamics for even better handling, stability and driving fun. Overall comfort has also been improved with more insulation against road noise, revised tyres and reduced suspension vibration. Features newly added to the line up, like available advanced keyless entry and a 20 gigabyte hard disc drive audio system (depending on market offer), make the Mazda3 facelift even easier to use and enjoy on a daily basis.

That is a good looking little car. In a departure from the norm, I like the sedan better than the wagon/hatch. Seeing the Mazda3 makes me want to take the design department of Subaru, shake them by the collective scruff and say "Why can't you make an Impreza look this good?"

i very much dislike that prow. the whole car seems "thick", too. the designers were probably shooting for that look to make the car seem less like an econobox, but it still rubs me the wrong way.

Always loved the loks of the Mazda3, but the facelift is hardly noticeable.

looks like a 6 speed in that one shot (reverse looks to be up and to the left of first) is that the MS 3 in the pic?

Glad to see that Mazda is already on version 2.0 of this generation of the Mazda3, yet Ford still hasn't brought over their version of it to the USDM.

Yeah, it's the MS3, 250 Hp 280 TQ. BTW, I believe all 2.3 Mazda3's will come with a 6-speed.

I agree on both parts of what you say. I mean, mazda3's are nice, but.. what, foglights? I can't really spy much else different.

My friends got an 04 and it doesn't look much different to me. The looks of his car are nice, but overall performance sucks. Not much low end power, too much body roll, and it just feels like your cruising in a mini van.

I have a SP 2.3 Hatch and it's totally the opposite of what you wrote.. with the exception of being under powered; but then again, it's not a 'performance' vehicle... think Subaru's Impreza RS.

The Mazda 3 was always a good looking car. Especially this new hatchback...which looks soo agressive from the rear. I just don't like the 3 sedan's low side skirts, because it makes the wheel wells look too small.

I've seen TONS of Mazda3's around here, but I guess I don't know them well enough because I'm having a hard time telling the difference with that face-lift from the outside. It's a nice looking car, but maybe because I've seen so many of them, they just look regular (plain) to me.

I really like the looks of the 3. Too bad it isn't parred with the Legacy interior. Has a very quality look to it overall, just not digging the tail lamps as much.

What is up with manufacturers and tail lamps these days?
