Default Engine Balancing?

Hi guys.

I recently cracked one of my pistons and ordered new JE Pistons, and Eagle rods. I'm going to have the install done next week at Subaru and my question is.. Do I need to get the internals balanced?

One of my buddies said that if i'm installing new internals it would be a good idea to get everything thats inside that rotates to be balanced. Meaning crank, etc.

I really don't know much about engine balancing and would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some advice.

btw, i drive an 02 WRX.

Its a good idea. You won't be able to do it, an engine shop will. Depending on the level of balance you are looking at 100 to 150 bucks (on average).
