I have an 04 wrx, currently have a catless uppipe and catless shorty downpipe, and am stage 2 with an AP. my shorty dp (stromung) is 3", and i plan on getting a scoobysports racepipe that is 2.5 inch. i sitll have the stock catback. when i remove the final cat, will my car change much in volume. I already have two cats gone, and it didnt really seem to change the volume of the exhuast, but i was just wondering if when i remove the final cat, will it be like extremely loud, or something that i wasnt expecting. I dont think it will be much louder, but i didnt know if i would be in for a shock when i turn on the car. i mean i still have the stock cat back on. So how much louder is a catless wrx with stock catback compared to completely stock. thanks

It will have the same level. I've db tested an assload of exhausts and can say for sure that cats don't do poop to quiet down your car.

I had mine set up like that when I initially applied the Cobb Stage 2 fuel maps and didn't notice much, if any, change in exhaust note quality. It certainly won't sound like ass; it sounded like any old WRX with factory exhaust.
