maybe CLUTCH???

i was driving home today and i was in 2nd and shifted to 3rd and i floored it and the rpms redlined like it was in neutral, and then i shifted to 3rd and same thing, do u guys think its the clutch?? need help

if you don't floor it, does the car go in 3rd- if you lightly step on throttle, does this happen?

get you car moving, get to 3rd gear and 2000rpm. if you step lightly and the clutch holds until you get into higher rpms, then yeah, its the clutch. if that doesn't make a difference, it's something else...

clutch failure already, on a sti?! they're pretty strong

^ ^ ^ ^ +1 Ouch, if it is the clutch i'd assume it was a bad factory defect or your just super hard on clutches. lol What mods do you have.

its working fine now, but i set an appointment with subaru to check it out

my clutch is toast also --- go figure putting in a ACT Street Disc setup week after next though - gotta baby it.
