Default Intake and engine management suggestions for v1 STI RA?

I'm planning on installing a fmic, and it doesn't look like the piping will route around the stock EJ20g intake. Can anyone recommend some domestic vendors who carry compatible aftermarket intakes? FYI, my turbo is the TD05H 16g with the 90 degree upturned air inlet.

Also, I'm looking around for compatible engine management. Does anyone know of some good options I should consider?

Thanks!
-Rob

Nice, I'll definitely look further into this. With the MAF out of the way, it'll make finding an intake much easier as well.

Bump...

A friend suggested that if I get an intake, I could work around any MAF problems with the SAFC-II that's already installed in my car. Can anyone confirm this?

Besides that, still open for intake recommendations.

Thanks!

I've got an intake on my, just built it myself, works great.

Right now I have a SAFC2, thing is junk, getting rid of it for a pro m, see how that works for me.

If you want standalone apexi power fc seams like a good way to go, plug and play

Good to know about the SAFC. I had bought it prior to doing this swap, so I figured I'd throw it in to see if it could help anything. I'll probably end up pulling and selling it.

99wrxej20, do you happen to recall the brand/model of the intake you have? Let me know if you find it, I'd definitely be interested.

If I do swap the intake, should I expect to have MAF problems w/o any engine management?

The Apexi Power FC sounds pretty promising. Do you know of any domestic vendors who carry these for EJ20g's? So far I found one in New Zealand...

Found a Power FC w/ Commander for $690 + $40 shipping on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-A...48112278QQrdZ1

The seller seems legit... 99wrxej20, you may be hearing from me about the datalogit software.

Try jappartsspecialist.com ( http://www.jappartsspecialist.com/main.htm ). I got mine through them for about $440 shipped (that is with out the commander).
I use FCDatalogit too. You can get FCdatalogit through RX7.com or if some one close to you has it your car can be tuned with their Datalogit.

I think Fineline Imports might have a used PowerFC version A right now. They did a week or so ago anyway.

^^^ This is who's selling them on ebay. Don't know if they used to sell the Power FC unit by itself, but currently their site only lists it paired with the commander, which is fine by me. It's still a good deal, so I've gone ahead and purchased it. Doesn't sound like it'll be too difficult getting my hands on Datalogit, and besides, there's a shop not far from here that will tune it for me.

As for the intake, I'm now eyeing the Blitz SUS. Full kit made for the EJ20g, no customization required, and I'd never have to change the filter.
