Rally Stuff Mark yer calendars - June 2-4 SCCA National Rallycross in Detroit region.

I'll have more details ASAP but it looks like Detroit region has been asked to host a nationally sanctioned rallycross on June 2-4 @ the Fowlerville Fairgrounds.

Basic schedule

Fri Jun 2
Course set up (no course pre-driving) & tech/registration

Sat Jun 3
AM runs
Lunch
PM runs
Evening GTG

Sun Jun 4
AM runs
Lunch
PM runs
Awards

This weekend is a motorsports ladden weekend with the Pro Solo down in Peru IN that weekend and the STPR round of the Rally America stage rally championship in Wellsboro PA BUT I really hope a lot of you guys/gals make it out for this event. Fowlerville Fairgrounds is a really fun venue to run and it's always fun to get your car slideways in the dirt.

If anyone knows of potential sponsors for this event, please have them contact me. I will be more than happy to talk to them.

STAY TUNED...MORE INFO TO FOLLOW.

I'm looking for reliable help for this event. It's going to be both Saturday and Sunday.

Personally, I'll be there Friday, Saturday & Sunday but that's because I'm gonna be helping plan/run the damn thing.

Dave and I were also talking about booking some rooms so people coming from far or t3h lazy like me can just stay close to the event w/o driving to and from the site so much. Anyone interested? I'll look into some close motels. People will HAVE to commit to renting rooms w/cold hard cash up front. No flakes please...

More info soon...

This sounds so sweet, I live about 15 minutes from the fairgrounds. If anyone needs assistance in finding a good place to stay, let me know. I'd recommend Howell or Brighton on the east for lodging and Williamston or Okemos on the west.

The fairgounds are pretty decent, and should have some pretty good seating depending on where they set the track.

we will likely use the whole dirt oval and infield again....oh yes...the last (mudfest) event was superb and I imagine a summer event will be event better!

Is anyone from MI even going to attempt going to any of the other national events? I mean...don't get me wrong, rallycross is fun but it's a heck of a long drive over to CA! (fly/rent option?)

Anyone planning on going to the Virginia, Tenn. or Nebraska events?
The final round in Hastings might be fun...anyone?

Psssst...lets try to keep this thread on topic.

We have a NRCPM (National Rallycross Planning Meeting) on April 4 and I'll have a LOT more info then. I do know that we will need the help of EVERYONE who plans to come out and play in the dirt.

d'oh! did i just get moderated???

anyway, looks like we're going to get a good crowd now that the word's out. i just need to score a set of real rally tyres by then if i want a shot at it.

BTW - when's Detroit going to change the class names to 2006 rules? i'm betting it's darn confusing for some seeing RP4 when it's really PA.

Mike -- I will work all weekend for you. No runs for me, I also have a friend who is a professional photog... He'll liekly be attending apr 22... And if he digs it, will be there for the nationals. (Just be certain that my worker points will transfer over to Road rally.)

Orion -- I will rent you my Compomotive TH2's and Silverstone rally tires. They're the S525's in med compound. (and the 3mm spacers if you still have 2-pots)

Thank you very much Nick. It's people like you who really make these events work.

Cool. My old roommate Rob will be @ Nationals taking pics as well. We're gonna have a rockin' course for that rallycross. Your points WILL cross over from road rally...don't worry about that.

Please see the supplemental regs link I posted @ the top. If anyone has questions, please let me know so I can answer them or ask the correct people in Topeka. It's gonna be run a bit different than a normal event. The sooner you sign up, the sooner you get to play.

Best Western Fowlerville
$79+tax for 2 queen sized bed.
$69+tax for 1 king sized bed.

Gonna see if SCCA gets discounts from BW and if so it could be cheaper.

I'm gonna make my reservations this week. Anyone else positive they want a room???
