Default Just Got my AP overnighted!

Well, I finally gave in and went on the search for an AP for my 2005 STI, I got through about 1/2 of the vendor list on COBB's site before I finally found one in stock........Subaru of Dallas came through for me. They had four left for the '05 after I ordered mine yesterday.

I loaded Stage 1 93 oct V1.03 this evening. My other modifications are;

*Perrin lightweight crank pulley
*COBB SF intake

It took less than 30 minutes to reflash. I was caught by suprise when it was time to turn the key to the "on" position and then stuff started turning on and off and lights were flashing, then I pushed the enter button on the AP and it loaded beautifully.

A friend of mine has an '04 and is AP stage 2 93 oct, and I've driven it and was really impressed with the difference from my stock '05. I can't believe how much of a felt improvement there is with just Stage 1. In fourth gear from 60-80 mph, I max out at 16.1 psi and it stays at 16. In fifth gear from 70-90 mph, I max out at 17.1 psi and it settles in nicely at 16.5. This was within 30 miles of reflashing the ECU. The pull in all of the gears is definitely noticable, especially 4th gear since that is where most of the legal acceleration on the highway can be had!

Congrats..but, like your friend with his '04, you'll soon be growing bored with stage 1, move to stage 2, get bored with that, add alky injection/protune and get....see a pattern here?

Default Bored, nevAr!

The pattern.........has existed in my life for 25 years. I can't leave anything alone. I am going down the dollar path. I get what I can when I can afford it. GO BIG or GO HOME, right?

You should look into the PDX Tuning custom maps for the AP. You will see an improvement in power, delivery and overall smoothness of power.

Default Here is my path.......

Get custom tuned @ stage 2, which would just be a downpipe for me.

Install an electric cut-out right after downpipe and do another custom tune for 100 octane with cut-out opened. I will primarily use this at the dragstrip. I wonder what kind of power I can expect?
