Default Labeled wires coming out of the ECu-what to cut?

ok, after reading through so many threads and different people putting different engines into different cars, i am still confused about the wiring aspect of my swap. 96/97 auto wagon wrx ej20g into a 95 impreza L auto. I have finally found the correct ecu pinout digram for the harness and ecu i have, so i traced all the wires coming out of the ecu and labeled the ends of the wires of what each function is. now, am i supposed to cut everything that doesnt come out of the ecu? or cut everything that is not engine related? i dont have a complete wiring diagram, i just used this http://www.northursalia.com/modifica...g/v3and4-3.jpg for the ecu
also, i take all the wires that come out of the ecu and merge it into wherever the original ecu functions went? i am so confused. can anyone please clarify?

also, my ecu is for an auto i guess and some of the colors dont match on the 16 pin connector. all the 22 and 26 pin connector colors match

I'm gonna start my swap in about 2 weeks and i just need to visually see where the wires merge and join and connect and cut and stuff. sorry for the long post

You only want ecu related wires. everything else just cut. dont toss anything as you may still want to go back to your harness and use some things. It should only be a few wires that you will keep.

What he said...
Step 1 from here: Isolate all the connectors that plug directly into the engine or something in the engine bay. There will be the VIB (very important bundle to borrow I-speed's term) that connects to the intake manifold harness. There will also be all the stuff for the MAF, boost control, O2 sensors etc. All these connectors will be directly used.

Step two, cut out and mark everything else that feeds into the ECU. This should include a handful of yellow (some with stripes) power lines, grounds and things like the dash gauges, etc. Most of these wires will match up to the colors of the wires already in the car.

The only thing I am unsure about is the TCU. Take a good look at both TCU units and connectors. It's probably just easier to use the wiring and TCU that's in the car. But maybe someone who has done a direcy auto to auto swap will chime in. I've only done it by using an auto harness and manual WRX ECU and cut out the auto wiring all together.

After this, your harness should be free and you are ready to patch it into the car...

ok so according to sideways, i should cut all the wires that dont lead to the ecu correct? all the other wires i will be using from my old harness. so i have almost every wire labeled (with the red stickers in the picture) so i basically cut every wire that doesnt have a red sticker (doesnt go to the ecu)? OR do i just save all the wires from the ecu and any wires going into the engine? because there are some connectors i think that go into the engine bay but those plugs dont go directly to the ecu.

also, anyone have an idea about my 16 pin connector? i need some wires from there identified. i also have been searching and cant find the rear ratio for a jdm wrx auto gf8 tranny. my L is a 4.11 if not, i can get my hands on a vlsd from a gc8 jdm impreza auto but i dont know if the auto from the sedan and wagon were the same ratio

oh yeah, im beginning my swap next friday (march 24th) anyone around md want to try and help me with the wiring? =)
