Default Subaru repair shop?

Hey everyone,

I'm in the 408 area and i was just wondering if there was any subaru repair shop that anybody recommends. I just take my impreza to Stevens Creek Subaru... Dont get me wrong, those guys are awesome, its just that things over there are kinda expensive, anyways if anyone could help me out it would be great.

Thanks,
-Paul

you're joking right? if you EVER have ANY work done for service or warranty just go to Subaru of Santa Cruz. dont give stevens creek 1 damn penny of your money. they are the worst place in the world to take your car.

Where's Red Star Racing at?

And also what's so bad about stevens creek? They've always seemed to do a good job, and my neighbors always took their 3 subarus there and never seemed to have problems with stevens creek.

But still i havent actually delt with them all that long, just wanna know whats up with them if you say they're so bad.

Thanks,
-Paul

do a search in the bay area for stevens creek and you find plenty of threads. if you take them for normal maintanence work and never mod the car, you should be ok with stevens creek. just check out santa cruz. call up bruce and see what he has to say about whatever you need to get done.

and red star racing is a good place to go to take the car to get modded if you dont want to do it yourself.

what seems to be the problem? maybe us baic guys can help you for free. chris and bill always have their (bill's) garage open on the weekend to help people install stuff and inspect things. and all they ask for is 20 bucks each.

now there is a question for the Santa Cruise Subi.
Are they Mods frienly or I am going to hear it if I show up with a modded WRX and ask them to work on it?

Example: would they charge me to pull a CEL since I have turbo back M2 exchaust?

Cheers

T.

they do not care. if you have like a turbo back setup thats not carb approved and they need to remove it to get at something, then they cant work on you.

titsataki, I can't say for sure if they are going to charge you but it only takes a minute for any dealership to pull the code. If that's all you want them to do, maybe just go down there and ask nicely if they can just pull the code and that's it since it's your mods that is probably causing the CEL. You don't even have to put the car in the bay. If not then find someone in the bay area that can pull the code, I think SLR can do it.

the best thing to do is call up bruce and see what he says. that way there is no question with if they can do it or not.

Subaru of Santa Cruz is the place to go! Those guys are awesome and know what they are doing. We went to them to freshen the heads for our racecar (valve seats and valve seals). Not only did they do a beautiful job with the heads, but John had a ton of helpful advise for reassembling the motor. Very nice, knowledgeable guys! Give Bruce a call to set up an appointment.
