Im planning on riding tomorrow afternoon if anyone is interested.
Still recovering from knee surgery so nothing crazy. Im thinking difficult run, but I might be able to be talked into fountainhead depending on how I feel.

I'm headed to Raystown Lake tonight in PA. to ride the new Allegrippis trails. Machine built, Army Corp of Engineers trail. Should be awesome.

It is actually almost too dry, I was the sweeper in a group ride last night and I am still hacking up dust and my eyes are all irritated.

If you want to take it easy on the knew I wouldn't go to Fountainhead. Smoothest place around is probably Laurell Hill, then maybe Wakefield or DR.

Smooothest MTB ride around in the DC area is probably Rosemaryville. It is a pretty fun, fast 10 mile loop.

yeah, Doc said to start working the knee so fountainhead is quite a workout

rode it this morning and took way too long at almost 2 hours (with a couple mechanicals) but good news was that the knee stopped hurting and went numb after about an hour

i still may ride difficult run later as a recovery ride

oh, do you have any links to laurel hill? sounds like a good ride for my singlespeed.

So I'm ready to report back about Allegrippis. I'll start with WOW! We drove up Friday night (a little over 3 hours from Baltimore, near State College). Unfortunately most of the campgrounds were full, so we picked one about 6 miles from the trail head. Anyway, we started riding Saturday morning (after getting a detailed map at the Ranger station). The trails are marked extremely well, and are coded beginner, intermediate, and difficult. The trails are all machine built, and the terrain is un-Pennsylvania like. There are very few rocks, it's just super smooth topsoil that flows like nothing you have seen. It's 40 something miles of pump track. While it would lose it's luster as your "home trail", it's an awesome trail. All told, we rode about 50 miles at an average of about 9.5 mph. - that should give you an idea of how fast the trails are. Crazy! I was on a rigid 29er SS, and my brother was on a squishy fork 29er SS. These trials are fast, and those are the bikes to have!

Sounds like a fun ride. I'll have to keep it in mind as it sounds like something my wife would also like.

Sounds like a good ride. It my current state of conditioning, it wouldn't really be worth the 3 1/2 hour drive.

If it's decent weather this weekend, maybe a Schaeffer ride?

I got an autoX Sunday. Hub should take you a couple hours max. Come on out for a ride Saturday late morning, lunch and then fix the hub.

I am thinking of going to Wakefield/Accotink Sat AM if the rain holds off long enough. Probably bringing a co-worker who hasn't ridden in some time, so it should be a nice easy ride with lots of breaks.
