Never been there. What's the difficulty level on Schaeffer Farms? And where is it? I've heard numerous people mention it, but I've never figured out where it is. I want to try out my NOS Noleen Cross-Link forks.

I've never been either, but from the right up, and what people have told me it's not too hard.

Cool. So we're on for this Sunday?

Oh, I have a Trek Y-Bike too, but I don't ride it anymore.

Shaffer Farms is nice, smooth, fast, non-techniqual riding. It was made and maintained by mountain bikers so not many hiker/horse types. There is a main circuit and several smaller loops so you can do a nice 2 hour ride and not have to circle back much. Guess I need to pump up my tires and shave my legs.

Why don't you deflate your tires and gain a few pounds to help me keep up.

Looks like good weather most of this week. Anyone up for an evening ride Tuesday or Wednesday?

OK. How about tomorrow afternoon/evening? I am going to Fountainhead and should be there around 5-5:30PM.

Anyone up for a ride this Saturday?

Default Ack, my lungs!

I went for a ride over the weekend, I am so out of shape it's pathetic. I know I can't do Fountainhead for a while, but I might go to Wakefield tomorrow (wed) night. Probably wont get there till 5:30pm earliest.

I can meet you at Wakefield if you want. Where do you usually park?

I used to park near the recycling bins at the 2nd lot, but last time I parked kind of near the 1st lot/baseball diamond. It seemed less busy there and the parking lot is bigger now.

Still up for Wakefield this evening?

You're talking about the parking off the Wakefield entrance on Braddock Rd right?

Yeah, the entrance off Braddock Rd near 495. I'll hopefully be there around 5:30-5:45. The weather is looking a little iffy right now, if it looks like rain for sure, I will probably bail.
Also, be forewarned, I'm pretty slow and need to take a lot of short breaks (especially) after any uphills.

Yeah. If it looks like rain, I'm out too. And don't worry about breaks. I'll need them too.

I have a bikerack, but I put my bike in the back of my car for now because my new forks don't work with my current rack. It really doesn't take too long to remove and replace the wheels if you have quick release.

I have a trailer hitch rack on my Mazda3 to avoid the roof rack. Of course, you'd need a trailer hitch, but I think it's the best solution if you don't want a roof rack. And the rack is really easy to take on and off.

Good time at Wakefield yesterday. A lot of fun and you can have a decent ride after doing a few loops. Thanks to Tom and...crap...what did I say about being bad with names?

One item of note for you single guys....apparently on Wednesday evenings there's some sort of mountain biking group ride/class/clinic for women. The group passed us and there were like 20 chicks. Seemed to be of all ages. One you really couldn't help noticing because she had...ummm...very big headlights and her brights were ON.

"You may pass".

I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'm up for something after work next week and/or next weekend. So did you make it around for 1 more loop before it got dark last night?

Let's plan on Wednesday evening next week again? Maybe we'll see some more "headlights".

Yeah, I made it around via the short cut. I was hauling.
