Seems like there aren't any riders in the area anymore, but I'll try again. Going riding tomorrow morning. Probably Wakefield. Maybe Fountainhead. Anyone up for it?

I'm still around, just been busy. I'm actually headed out the Elizabeths Furnace Sat AM for a ride, otherwise I'd join you. Next time!

It's out in the GW Nat'l Forest. I've never been out there before, but it should be a pretty challenging ride from what I've heard. Here's a little more info:

Try hitting up Francois (Bouchon). I'm riding with him on Sunday at Patapsco, but he's also looking for someone to ride with on Saturday.

He's not on here much, but I'll let him know to check this thread.

I'd love to come to Potapsco, but you guys would just be waiting for me all the time. I'm still horribly out of shape.

Had a good and easy ride on Sunday. Next time Tim then. Out of shape completely when it comes to driving on my side if it can make you feel better. ;-)

Tim, I ride a couple times a week but mainly at the Shed or Shaeffer or CJ or Roseryville. Come on over to MD, the riding is better!

I usually do a night ride every Monday and Thursday (sometimes Tuesday or Wed).

Getting parts to build up a new shed bike.

Gonz.

How are the trails at Patapsco since the recent storms?
Thanks

What time do you do a "night ride" and usally where? I'm off by 3 and can be in the shed or roseryville by 430 usally.

I typically ride at least once a week off road if it's dry. I like to do this 17 mile loop (2 1/2hours 6.5mph average) at Patapsco (ten mintues from work) starting from Rockburn and then going CW around Patapsco ref: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/89755497.

Thursday is 7PM at Shaeffer. We are in the process of locking down a time for Monday at CJ but it will probably be at 6PM.

Tuesday at 7PM Roseryville.

I usually hit the shed during the weekends (dayride, 3-4 hours) since it is an hour drive to get there.

I'll be at Summit Point this Thursday (tomorrow) but plan on trying to make the night ride at Shaeffer at 7PM.

I'll be on a black single speed hard tail.

Hum 7pm if I worked 9-5 that be great! I'm usually done riding and home showered and happy in my slippers by 7pm :-). Well any-who if you ride the shed on a SS my old fart arsh probably wouldn't be able to keep up with you so happy trails.

Don't worry, I prefer to ride my geared bike at the shed but will ride the SS when I feel like something different (or the 1x9 is not working right). The SS is mainly for Shaeffer, Roservville, Patapsico, Raystown etc.

Last weekend I rode the shed/sandflats on the SS, I think the average speed was like 4.5 mph for ~4 hours. Ended up at the bottom of that new trail "Vandal" and then rode 30 minutes back up the mountain on the dirt road to get back to the Sand Flats trail head. That ride on a 32x18 kicked my ass.

The Thursday Shaeffer night ride always ends with dinner and drinks at DogFish head so you could make it your late night out (I usually get home around 11PM).

Anyone up for a ride Sunday? I might even be willing to go up to MD somewhere. Maybe Schaeffer?

Little vid from Fountainhead yesterday. Experimenting with GoPro placement. This was mounted to the fork crown. Should of had it pointing down a bit more.

I'm down. Slow ride ok? Might have a coworker meet us, especially at Schaeffer.

Leaves are turning in most places. The Shed looked great on Sunday, tons of color in the trees. On the other hand, following the trail with all the leaves can be an issue.

Where is the damn trail?

Fall at the Shed.

I was out there on Sunday too. We started over at the sand flats lot and did some of the stuff at that end. A couple times I had to stop and look around to find the ever so slightly more compacted leaves to follow the trail. It was a great day for riding though! I haven't ridden nearly enough up there this year so my rock crawling skills are suffering.

We started at Hamburg. Blue, Dave's, Huggy Bear, Kubla Khan, Valley of Death climb, Yellow, Lawnmower, Rusted Bug, Busted Knuckles. About 12 miles.

Kubla Khan is super fun with large rocks (and alternative paths if you don't have the balls). Almost makes the climb back up along Blue worth it.
