Post 4eat

Does anyone know if the 4EAT in the 97 L 2.2 is the same as the one for the GT?

I believe it is the same transmission as the 97 GT. I remember reading the specs on the legacies when I was looking for my GT (also a 97). They listed the transmissions as being the same in terms of the all-wheel drive systems. In terms of the gear ratios, they might be different to accomodate for the varying powerbands of the two engines.

They're just about the same except for gearing/final drive. If a swap is in mind it'll need to be regeared or the rear diff will also need to be changed to match.

Kevin Thomas is using a EJ25 4EAT TCU on his EJ22 automatic.
