Default Andrewtech Automotive (merged thread)

Sunday at MIR there was a big Import vs Domestic event.

I had some gremlins with my 2 runs... 1st the BOV vacuum line popped off. Ran 13.4 @ 86 mph. Then the 2nd run, as I pulled up to run (w/ a fixed BOV line) the clutch line burst, the clutch went to the floor, ran 21.2 @ 112 mph.

Andrewtech peeps (James, Phil, etc.) tried their hardest to get me up and running again. We removed the clutch line and tried using a stainless brake line as a temporary fix. I think it should have worked, however, it just wouldn't build pressure. We bled it and bled it... to no avail.

Anyway, they had great food and drinks, too AND I got a T-shirt... I wanted everyone to know how much I appreciated their help and hospitality!!!

Default Andrewtech Automotive

Andretech Automotive was awesome!!! I had trouble finding someone who could build my tranny for me before I left town for Christmas and they did it overnight. These guys are amazing. I've got a new PPG set-up that will last me a life time. And I cant feel better about my transmission. Props to Phil, James, Russell, and Andrew for their hard work and great service.

I've as well had quite a few dealings with them. I'm also damn proud to say that they are a company that believes in making the customer happy first, putting out quality parts/service second, and making profit third. While this is a rare thing amongst Subaru places and this place is fairly new, it is a shining star amongst Vendors in my eyes.

I just contacted AndrewTech to get an alignment and was told they are booked up for a little over a week. I told them how badly I am in need of an alignment after installing new suspension and he fit me in this week. I am impressed already.

Hey guys, I'm dealing with AndrewTech Automotive for a 2nd time now, though I wish it was under different circumstances.

Well, about two months ago (Early Dec), my syncros were all messed up, Lance told me about Andrew as he recently had work done.

So I figured I'd get my 1st & 2nd gears done while having him replace my syncros.

He hooked it up, and for two months my transmission was great, even the red line light weight shock proof he recommended worked better then any other tranny fluid I tried!!!!

Well, on Presidents day 06', I was in thrid merging through traffic, and BOOM! Third ripped completely apart!

I contacted Andrew RIGHT after it happened. He not only seemed gen. concerned. He told me bring it to him right way!!

We figured out my budget, settled in on late year 3rd & 4th gears and he is fixing it for me as we speak, I pick it up satruday and will put it back in when I get home from Maryland (Luckily I live in VA)

This guys is great, honest, and does excellent work, I will continue to recommend him to everyone I know!!!!

Same here. I got my Accessport from these guys after I got shafted by another Mid-A vendor; I only wish that I shopped here first. I'd like to say thanks a bunch, and I'll definitely be doing more business with you. Maybe I'll even buy those injectors!!

They took great care of me when I took my car up there.

It was reading posts like this that made me go there when it broke and the posts were right, they do great work.

If/when it breaks again and I get stuck to where I can't fix it, I will go there again even though it is over an hour from where I live.

follow up: Went to get my gears Saturday, Andrew not only went out his way to take time from his personal life to meet me at 5 on a Saturday (cause who wants to work on Saturday) but he was VERY cool about it....

Let me just say, everything he has said, has been true and honest, and I respect that.

And for those who have NOT gotten to see the man in action, it blew my and my buddies mind. He moved like he could do this in his sleep. The man is a true pro and I'd let him handle my car ANY TIME!

Thanks Andrew and the guys at gearbox tech. You already had me as a customer, but things like this are what keep me coming back!

Thumbs up Andrewtech Automotive

Andrewtech Automotive

I just had my first experience with Andrewtech in Gaithersburg Maryland. All the praise they have received is well founded. My head gasket blew at 100,600 miles on my 2002 TS. I had the original clutch and the timing belt was due to be changed at 110,000 miles. They worked up a package deal to get all the work done at a very reasonable price. I live 35 miles from them and did not want to drive the car in rush hour traffic due to the overheating potential. Sunday was my best day to drop it off. Russ was concerned about leaving the car set outside the shop so he came in on Sunday just to move the car. The work was done well ahead of the promised date. When I picked it up I spent at least 45 minutes chatting with them. All great guys.

One other thing, I had a rattle in the dash on the passenger side that drove me crazy trying to find. It is now gone. I don’t know if Andrew’s guys fixed it or if it was the good karma at the shop that fixed it. In any case they made the 70 mile round trip well worth it.

Default AndrewTech -- Again A+

Well, I'm not quite sure where to begin. My 04 STi stock clutch was toast and I was a lucky something to make it to gaithersburg from princess anne md (about 4 hrs south). Pincher was that it had to be done in one day. From the first phone call - Andrewtech was one of the best businesses I have ever dealt with. Somehow I managed to sucker my g/f to comming with me. When we got there shortly after 8am b/c I can't read directions they informed me as to what exactly was going to be done and about how long it would take. The entire experience was one that could not have been better.

Andrew,
Thank you so much for driving my butt around. Jen and I appreciate that you took time to get us to a breakfast joint and to and from the metro so we wouldn't be stuck in the shop all day. That is truely A++++++ service and I can say without hesitation that you are one awesome dude. I've never heard of any business man going so far and so beyond the regular guidelines of their profession to make sure the customer has a good experience - so thank you very much. I look forward to doing more business, as well as spreading the word down here about your shop.

Thumbs up Andrewtech Automotive

I just had my car aligned and some parts installed last week in his shop.
Everyone in his shop is very friendly and nice, and their work
is definitely excellent. Their work is way better than any mechanic
shop I have ever been even the dealership.
Andrew is no doubt a reliable mechanic and he cares about quality more
than money. I can not be happeir after he did all the things on my
car. He even torque my wheel when he put the wheels back on.
This is what I have never seen in any other shop.
Quality and professional are how I describe about them. When my
transmission need to be replaced, they are the only shop I will bring to.

Actually I dealt with andrewtech, not on a sales level, but on an information level. Phil was very helpful and really helped me out answering my questions with what I needed to know (purchased a USED andrewtech dogbox). Thanks for easing my mind!

well what can i say, andrewtech rocks!

at 2pm today my trans broke (sort of), the shifter stopped engaging the gears. after being towed 10-12 miles with a strap, out of the pine barrens in NJ, i called them about the problem i was having with the ppg 1-4 dog box they built for me. they seemed to think the ball and socket joint inside the case broke and that they had installed a new billet ball when they did the trans. work. they have never seen this item break yet but, it could happen.

330pm in a panic for parts, i had a friend go by my house in nh, pick up some stock trans componets (including the ball) and drive them to me in northern NJ. i got the car towed 90 miles to azpinstalls in northern NJ. i removed the tail section we had perviously talked about, to find the ball had not broken but the socket did. this prompted another call to andrewtech.

5-630pm
andrewtech and i discussed the breakage and informed me that they had a good part in their hands as we spoke. (if you dont know, andrewtech is near DC) i asked if anyone was willing, for a fee, to drive the good part to me. after a couple of calls back and forth, they agreed to send 2 techs up to me tonight AND they would put the car back together for me. i would have to cover a hotel for the night so the guys didnt have to drive back the same night, no problem by me.......

945pm
i got the call that the techs are in route and will call me when they get close!

you may be asking yourself why i was in such a HUGE rush to get the car running right away. i am the chairperson of donations for the 48 hours of tri-state charity drive, today was the start of the weekend event ( http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1155903 ). i broke down less than 100 miles into the official start of the trip and i am 250 miles from home.

i did honestly have to do a little talking to have them come up but, the point is they are on a friday night coming to help resolve the problem.

now to take a little nap before they get here so i will be able to meet the rest of the group in cooperstown, ny by morning.

VERY VERY VERY well done!

sincere thanks
ted

UPDATE: 1am they just arrived!

330-4am car is fixed and im on my way to catch up with the group in cooperstown, NY.

Andrewtech Automotive rocks my socks.

Ordered a PPG 1-4 straight cut synchro set through a distributor from them. I had some questions about the install, called them up. They are very friendly on the phone, like you're talking to an old buddy. I needed a shim for the 04 transmission, they went beyond the extra mile and sent me one free of charge OVERNIGHT to get me up and running again. I offered my credit card info, and he said "don't worry about it, we got ya covered." Seriously, who does that? Andrewtech does.

Sure, you pay out the ass for these gearsets...it is truely a huge investment. But you definately get what you pay for here. Great gearsets, and OUTSTANDING service and backing from great guys. For that, I think this gearset was a bargain. I'd honestly put PPGs in all my future vehicles just to toss money at these guys again. Best service ever, I can't thank you guys enough.
