Hi All,
My wife and I just got a WRX wagon in Silver for her and still don't even have the break in miles on it but we like it. I bought it with 5 miles on it and I will probably spend some quality time with my wife adding the air filtration thingy, armrest extension, and something to keep groceries from flying around in the back. From the looks of the setup I better do something about mudflaps too but not sure on that. Beyond that I am curious about various power related performance mods. From looking around the Cobb package that uses the stock turbo looks cool and from having driven a few well tuned DSMs I am thinking we may do that as these things get better sorted out. Anyone have that Cobb package around the Boston area? That or a similar setup that is pretty quiet? Dave Spragg |

If you need parts like the air filtration and armrest extension, you can get them from Mike @ Exeter Subaru. He has beaten the prices of subaruparts.com everytime I have bought anything from him. I would also recommend the cargo net...best $20 I've spent. |

I have met Bill when he first started autocrossing... at least I think he had, that wild man had more adrenaline than most people could live through.
I was new too and pretty wild myself but he seemed a good egg and another friend (Keith Casey) pointed me that way when i told him we were getting one. Thanks, Dave |

I'm in the Boston area too (South of). I just bought a WRX and joined too. I looked into the COBB packages, they don't want to sell them unless they have a local shop that's with them to tune the setup. Just as redobs said, but they told me they're working on it. Apexi is supposed to be coming out with some good stuff with their WRX behind the veil. Set to come out Dec/Jan I'm told =) Also, their prices will drop too. I just got my corporate license and buying into a few aftermarket companies. I just need the time to get to tuning on my car. So, I can hook myself and other WRXs up. These prices I've been seeing are ridiculous. The unichip is on a long term back order along with many other parts... so hopefully APEXI will pull through with a some great products and results with their WRX and hit the market big.

Hmmmm... KC and the tag says south eastern MA with a 2002 WRX in Silver. I know who that must be! Hey Keith! THese guys are pretty scary aren't they? I think I better be pretty careful what I ask about with this demented bunch.
Will I see you at Devens Sunday with the BMW CCA? I will be driving on the non-BMW course in Fred's 99 911 with street tires. Can you say "understeer"? I ran a 1993 M5, 2001 M5, and a totally crazy M3 there last time... all on street tires... weeeee!!! I learned some stuff about street tires but it sure hurt the one run I took in Steve's ride with the Hoosiers I kept turning in right intot he cones. Sheesh. Dave |

Yes Dave, this is a 'different' bunch. Think: short busses to school, helmets, computer programmers, umm... all walks of life).
![]() If there's one thing, well two things to keep in mind... well three things.... 1) We're nice people whol like to have fun 2) We like Subaru's and cars in general... including other cars. 3) Brian likes cheese. If you remember these, you'll be welcome with open arms by the bunch... well... umm... weith beer by the bunch. If your wife though you spent too much time on the BWM stuff, you in biiiig trouble. I'm going to the SCCA event I think. There's going to be more Subarus.... but the BMW club means ... more runs. It's tough... really tough decision. --kC |

Cool, I dig it. Well... except who Brian is and why it's important he likes cheese. I can live with that. As for time I think it won't be hard as this thing is not going to be raced as I am not putting a roll cage and all into it. I might autocross it once it's broken in next year but I really don't autocross anymore.
Time...If you haven't signed up already for the BMW event you decision has been made for you I think. Dave "lost in a world of strange and wonderful scoobygeeks" Spragg ![]() |

Dave ,
Do i really come off as that wired. i remeber back in the old days when i was more into destroying tires and seeing if the car was faster if the front was following the back yet i have learned since then that the other way is faster. Which guy were you wait you had the BMW right??? Did i ever run over any cones with you in my car? |

Hey Bill,
Yeah, I had "one" of the BMWs... har har har. Mine is the dark Green 99 that was stock except for the tires. And yes you hit cone(s) and gave your tires a workout that would have exhausted an Olympic runner. A fun ride to be sure, I loved it. I don't know if I ever took you for a ride in my 99 as there was always someone in the passenger seat with a helmet. LOL!!Wired? You? No. ![]() I will call you soon. Dave |

Yep, that was my green 1999 Bill, 100% stock except the tires... right down to the factory alignment for 4 150 people and 80 lbs in the trunk. When driven even close to right the E36 M3 is a pretty ferocious car even if it isn't that fast at a drag strip.
